나의 믿음과 변화 된 삶

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."                                     [John 14:6]

“ 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라(요14:6)”

  I am Sri Lankan foreign worker in Korea. My name is H. M. Chandana, and I am twenty six years old. I have been working for three years and nine months in Korea. For the first one and half year I had lots of problems. In that period I worked for a textile factory. It was hard job for me, and the salary was low. Moreover, I had two expensive operations. I also got lots of temptations. Every time I faced them, my mind was not clear, and my health deteriorated.

  저는 한국에서 일하는 스리랑카 외국인 근로자입니다. 저의 이름은 찬다나 이며, 26세입니다. 한국에서 일한지 3년 9개월이 되었는데, 처음 일년 반 동안은 어려운 점도 많았습니다.

  직물공장에서 일을 했는데, 봉급은 얼마 되지 않고, 일은 고되더군요. 그런데다 수술을 두 번 받아 돈도 무척 많이 들었습니다. 유혹도 많이 받았는데, 이 때 마다 저의 마음은 정결함을 잃게 되고 건강은 악화되었습니다. 

  One day one of my Sri Lankan friends invited me to Namsan Church. I attended the service for foreign workers on every Sunday. The services gave me peace and joy. But I did not know who is God, how to pray, how to please Him. However, little by little, I prayed to God and started to learn the Bible. Every time I prayed, I found that I was crying and praising God!

  어느 날 고국 스리랑카에서 온 친구 하나가 나를 남산교회에 가자고 했습니다. 이 때부터 주일이면 외국인 근로자 선교회 예배에 참석했는데, 예배는 저에게 마음의 평안과 기쁨을 주었습니다. 그러나 저는 하나님이 누구인지, 기도는 어떻게 하는지, 어떻게 하면 하나님을 기쁘게 하는 것인지 몰랐습니다. 하지만, 조금씩, 조금씩 기도도 해 보고, 성경도 배우기 시작했습니다. 기도할 때마다 울며 하나님을 찬양하는 저 자신을 발견했습니다!

  He opened my heart and my eyes. On the day of March 31, 2002 I got baptized at Namsan Church. I became new in Christ. Then He taught me His holy way, and made me wholly devoted to Him. So I kept praying and repenting before God. Oh, how amazing is God! He did not refuse my prayer. He was working me up.

  하나님은 저의 마음을 열고 눈을 뜨게 했습니다. 저는 2002년 3월 31에 남산교회에서 세례를 받았습니다. 저는 예수님 안에서 새롭게 되었습니다. 주님은 거룩하게 사는 길을 가르쳐 주셨으며, 저를 전적으로 주님께 헌신하게 하였습니다. 그리하여 주님 앞에 쉬지 않고 기도하고 회개하였습니다. 정말 놀라운 하나님이십니다! 하나님은 저의 기도를 마다하지  않고, 저를 일으켜 세우고 계셨습니다.

  He gave me a good job with a housing, which is like a palace with all kinds of furniture and appliances that I could not imagine. It is God's amazing Grace for me. Now, every day my heart is wide open to the true love of Jesus Christ. He knows every bit of my needs. I thank You, Oh Lord!

  하나님은 저에게 좋은 직장도 구해 주셨는데, 사는 집은 궁전같아서 상상해 보지도 못한 가구와 가전기기들로 채워져 있습니다. 이 모두가 저를 위한 놀라운 하나님의 은혜입니다.

  I, Chandana, write to you, Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. If anyone prays to God in true heart, he can receive more blessing from Him.

  이 지면을 통하여 저 찬다나는 여러분들에게 전하고 싶습니다; 예수님은 길이요 진리요 생명이라고. 누구나 하나님께 진심으로 기도하면, 제가 받은 것 보다 더 많은 은혜를 받을 것입니다.

  Jesus Christ! I have betrayed Your great love. You were crucified on the cross to save me and to give me an eternal life. . . Forgive my sins. Come to me as the messiah, and help me go to heaven.  - Amen -

예수 그리스도여! 저는 주님의 그 크신 사랑을 배반했습니다. 저를 구원하시고 저에게 영생을 주시려고 십자가에 달려 돌아가셨는데... 저의 죄를 용서하소서. 구세주로 저에게 오셔서 저로 천국에 이르도록 하소서. - 아멘 -

My soul cried out, I had struggled for life.

Believed to be, I was destined to strive!

I had walked through a journey so long and uncertain.

Made me tired and weak, timid and lame!

내 영혼은 통곡하고 있었지요, 살아남기 위하여.

믿기로, 나는 고역을 지고 살아야 할 팔자라고!

그 멀고 불확실한 여행길을, 나는 가고 있었지요.

지치고, 허기지고, 볼품없이 비틀거리며!

The world took advantage of my confused heart.

I was surrounded by wickedness, my faith departed!

A decade of three and more I can recall. . .

I was blinded by darkness, in sins I fell!

세상은 나의 혼란한 마음을 볼모로 삼아,

사악에 둘러싸여, 내 믿음은 떠났지요!

돌아보니, 이러길 삼십 년도 넘었는데...

나는, 어둠에 눈이 멀어, 죄의 늪에 빠졌었지요.

Deceived by a serpent, I believed in his tell.

Because he spoke so sweet, his chill tongue told well!

I belonged to his dominion, trapped by his lies.

I belonged to his world, my spirit died!

사탄에 속아, 그의 말을 믿었는데,

그의 말은 감미롭고, 차가운 혀는 나를 압도하였지요.

그의 지배 하에, 그의 거짓에 잡힌바 되어,

그의 세상에 속하여 나의 영혼은 죽어 있었지요!

My thoughts and my deeds told, I was created not for this,

told me where would it lead, not to live but only to perish!

As I gazed in the wilderness, I noticed a road so narrow!

I looked back . . . . All was a mess. Now, where would I go?

나의 사고와 행동은 말했지요; 내가 그렇게 살게 지음을 받지 않았다고,

가는 곳을 알려 주었지요; 사는 곳이 아니라 결국 멸망하는 곳이라고!

내가 황야를 보니, 좁은 길이 하나 보였어요!

뒤를 돌아보니... 모든 것이 혼란스런 것들 뿐.

이제 어디로 가야하나요?

Then I heard a voice calling, telling me to leave my load behind,

and told me, I must be born again, and abide in a vine!

"The narrow road will lead you, to rest and salvation.

It will free you from death, it will save you from destruction."

나를 부르는 소리를 들었지요, 짐을 버리고 오라고.

그리고 말하더군요; 거듭나라고, 포도나무 안에 살라고!

“그 좁은 길이 너를 인도하리니, 구원과 쉼이 있는 곳으로, 죽음의 굴레로부터 자유로워지리니

; 나는 멸망에서 너를 구원하리라.“

My tears flew out as I began to confess,

asking myself; "Will the Lord forgive me if He hears the rest?"

But to me He said, "My son I LOVE YOU, everything I knew,

I died on the cross. I did it for you!"

내가 회개할 때, 눈물은 내 마음을 채워 넘쳐나고,

내게 나는 물었지요; “남김 없이 모든 것을 털어놓아도, 주님은 용서할까?”

주님은 말했지요; “내 아들아, 너를 사랑해. 너의 모든 것을 알고 있어.

그래서 내가 십자가 위에서 죽었지, 너를 위해 죽었어!“

The power of His love made me understand.

My lawless deeds were forgiven. I am a new man;

a new creation with JESUS. I tell you it is true.

I have my body and my soul, and my spirit renewed!

주님의 능력은 나로 그를 알게 했고,

나의 무법의 삶은 용서를 얻었지요. 나는 새 사람 ; 주님 안에 하나의 새로운 피조물.

이건 진실이에요.

나의 육신과, 영과 혼 모두가 새로워졌어요!

My faith I have revealed, a testimony to share,

that it may inspire everyone, to know our Lord, JESUS well!

He is urging us to be the salt and light among the nation.

Let us preach the GOSPEL! Let us share the glory in His Kingdom!

나의 믿음을, 나의 간증을 나누고 싶어요.

모든 이의 마음을 움직여, 우리 주님 예수를 잘 알게 하고 싶어요!

주님은 세상의 빛과 소금이 되라고 재촉해요.

복음을 전해요! 주님나라의 영광을 나누어 봐요!
